Overview
A six-month UK Market Accelerator Programme supported high-potential Japanese technology start-ups to enter the UK market. The programme combined market insight, mentoring, and active business development to generate early commercial traction.
Challenge
Participating companies had strong domestic performance but limited UK market knowledge, networks, and clarity on regulation, routes to market, and sales strategy.
Approach
Ten companies were selected from 45 applicants. Each received UK marketworkshops, weekly one-to-one mentoring, structured prospect development, and coordinated outreach. The programme culminated in a week-long UK market visit with customer, partner, and investor meetings, expert sessions, and a final pitch showcase.
Results & Impact
The programme generated over 500 qualified leads, 60+ business meetings, 20 investor meetings, and a collective sales pipeline exceeding £2m. Participants exited with validated demand, strengthened networks, and improved readiness to scale in the UK.
